Double Chocolate Zucchini Muffin @ Citizen, Queen Anne

Last friday, I visited my favorite coffee shop in Seattle, Citizen. The baristas are awesome, the ambience is perfect and the waitresses are always happy to recommend their favorite dish. I took my friend Mitch there from out of town because I love the place. After our tasty sandwiches (I forgot to take a picture so I can't blog about it yet), I was in the mood for something sweet. While this cafe offers a plethora of treats, Suzana the owner, recommended I try a new muffin made fresh by Wildflour. Without telling me what was in it, I cut the muffin into 4 parts and took the first bite. It was moist, chocolate-rich and spongy, everything that encompasses the idea of a muffin.

After devouring most of the muffin, leaving some for my friend Mitch, Suzana told me that it was a dairy- and gluten-free zucchini muffin. I honestly had a hard time believing it but after I read the sign I had to take a picture. I guess you can make something tasty without milk or gluten. If you happen to be lactose intolerant or plagued by celiac disease, this is your treasure. Or if you're in mood for chocolate in the form of a muffin...bon appetite!
